Addressing child sexual abuse (CSA) is a multi-disciplinary challenge requiring a collaborative, joined-up approach - from frontline professionals up to senior decision makers. We recognise that expertise lies in many different places: in lived experiences, practice knowledge, academic research and policy and our purpose is to facilitate meaningful connections between all of these.
Bringing together a wide range of roles, sectors and organisational levels, ‘Connect 2018’ will deliver a unique and dynamic experience of sharing, learning and shaping future research, policy and practice.
These one-day events will allow colleagues from policing, health, local authority, education, research and the voluntary and community sectors to come together on an equal footing to network, collaborate and share learning. The agenda will feature engaging subject matter experts from across the sector along with our own team here at the Centre, sparking discussion, debate, collaboration and development of effective solutions to transform our ability to protect children from child sexual abuse.
With events taking place in Cardiff and Birmingham, Connect 2018 is open to professionals in England and Wales, across the UK and Internationally.
Provide your thoughts on the event agenda
Since the launch of the Centre last year, over 500 professionals have shared with us their views on how we can collectively improve our ability to both prevent CSA, and protect and support children and young people affected by it. This feedback has helped shape our priorities and work programme.
We want to continue to work with you to shape the focus of our Connect 2018 events. Please complete our quick survey to provide your thoughts on the event agenda.
