Are you currently undertaking PhD research related to child sexual abuse?
We’re inviting PhD researchers to join us for a friendly and participative one-day workshop at London Metropolitan University on Wednesday, 30th of April 2025.
The workshop is a unique opportunity for doctoral students – based in academic schools or working in practice – to take part in informal and supportive discussions about their work. Most importantly – it offers participants the chance to become part of a support network of researchers engaged in similar work.
We welcome students at any stage of their PhD journey and encourage them to present aspects of work undertaken so far. Previous workshop participants have shared early thoughts on research design and methods, emerging findings and their experiences of ethics processes. It’s a great opportunity to seek the advice and support of peers and experts working in the field.
We’re delighted to be joined once again by Professor Liz Kelly, Director of the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit at London Metropolitan University, to facilitate the day and be on-hand to offer insights and guidance based on years of research experience.
What past participants tell us
Now in its ninth year, the CSA Centre’s PhD student workshop is popular with students across a wide range of research disciplines, including social work, education, health, policing, criminology, psychology and more.
Past participants have told us they felt the workshop was a safe and encouraging environment to speak about the difficult subject of child sexual abuse and help progress their studies.
Fantastic! It was inspiring and uplifting to meet people who work in the same area and are on the same journey.
