Their work also involves encouraging and supporting young people in exiting harmful relationships, to which they can fall extremely vulnerable to.

Buckinghamshire’s R-U-Safe CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) and Missing Service works with children and young people (aged 11 to18 years old), providing specialist CSE and missing focussed support across the county. Their service provides: direct, one-to-one support to young people at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE); counselling for open clients; informal, independent follow-up to Police Safe and Well Checks - ‘Return Interviews’; county-wide, targeted prevention work within schools across the county; awareness raising to professionals and young people.

Barnardo’s Sexually Exploited Children Outreach Services (SECOS), based in Middlesbrough, offers support to young people being sexually exploited and adults involved in prostitution in the South Tees area. They also offer training to professionals around sexual exploitation, trafficking, sexual abuse, self-harm and sexually harmful behaviour. They have CSE services in Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, using a hub and spoke model with SECOS being the Hub and Spokes the other areas . They also have SCARPA, a partnership with the Children’s Society in Newcastle, where they have a trained CSE worker.
