Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis (BSARC)

 

BSARCS is Barnsley's only specialist provider of services to survivors of sexual violence.  They offer support to women and men. Barnsley Sexual Abuse & Rape Crisis Services include counselling, advocacy and a helpline. Their services are free, confidential, and delivered by women; their staff are professionally qualified and receive specialist training; they are independent - they are not part of the police, local authority, NHS or Social Services; they are non-judgemental and are available to individuals and their families; they will never push you into reporting what has happened to you.

Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Services

 

Support is available to anybody who has suffered any form of sexual abuse at any point in their life. They offer support through the justice system, counselling, advocacy services. Services are also offered to parent support groups, men and women separately. Anonymous text and email services, as well as training to agencies that provide sexual abuse services.

BASE (Building Awareness of Sexual Exploitation)

 

BASE 58 supports young men and women who are being or are at risk of sexual exploitation. BASE 58 can support you if you are involved in a difficult relationship with an older person; you find yourself in risky situations and need to talk to someone; you are talking to or meeting people off the internet or you are worried or frightened about an adult you are involved with

Basingstoke Rape and Sexual Abuse Crisis Centre (BRASACC)

 

BRASACC are there to provide a crisis/support line to anyone, (over the age of 16 years), who has been raped, sexually abused or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives. They also provide Crisis Line support to parents, partners, families, friends, and workers from other agencies, who are supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse and sexual assault. They offer a free and confidential service; rapid response trauma appointments*; individual counselling*; support group*; ISVA service. (*These services may not be appropriate for everyone).  They cover Basingstoke and North Hampshire. They only take self-referrals.

Basis (Yorkshire)

 

Basis provides support for women working in the sex industry in Leeds (Basis Sex Work Project) and young women who are involved in/at risk of medium/high sexual exploitation (Basis Young People). Basis also support women (over 18 years) who have experienced sexual exploitation in the past as a child or young person (Basis Historic CSE).

Basis Training and Education provides specialist, accredited training, education and research on the social issues affecting our communities today. Basis is connected to a network of charitable projects specialising in Child Sexual Exploitation and adult sex work. They also work with young people, families and communities to raise awareness and increase knowledge of safety and risk.
